THz frequency band is attracting growing interests for various potential applications such as broadband communication for high data rate and imaging for security, product inspection, biomedical diagnosis, etc. Traditionally, THz systems have been based on the optical approach typically employing femto-second lasers, but a recent approach based on solid-state electronic devices and circuits is gaining growing attention owing to compact, low-power, low-cost THz systems available with those electronic components. In this talk, various THz integrated circuits for signal generation, detection, and amplification recently developed in Korea University will be presented. Additionally, experimental application of some of these circuits for THz imaging will also be introduced, which includes reflection-mode bio imaging and transmission-mode 3D tomography imaging results.
