My Note: In my continuing quest to attempt to keep track of developments in THz, I wrote to several companies to give me information about their current efforts and successes, in commercializing the various THz applications that are discussed on this blog.
This year, the rate of response to my multiple inquiries was pretty minimal, (which helps explain the lack of an end of the year post). However, Gerhard Schoenthal, at VDI, took the time to send me the following email. Thanks Gerhard!
(Makes me wish VDI was publicly traded so I could buy stock in the company they are clearly on the cutting edge in a number of areas).
Randy,
Thanks for all your work in mm-Wave and THz technology.
Please see the following comment.
“VDI continues to see strong interest in mm-Wave and THz test and measurement equipment. We are looking forward to bringing our mini VNA extension modules to the market in 2014. We are seeing peeked interest for frequency extension products from 50 to 170 GHz in support of testing of commercial and consumer products for communications and radar applications.”
Happy Holidays,
Gerhard
