Finally some new comments, and interesting ones at that

The volume of readership of this blog has grown, and grown and GROWN.  Perhaps the best illustration of this comes from the  google graph at the bottom.  But while readership from all over the world grows day, by day, I seldom get any comments. Tonight, I'm pleased to report a had a couple of interesting comments, that I am reposting here, so that the general readership can see them.

First, Terahertz01 takes exception to my comments that Advanced Photonix and it's wholly owned subsidary are the industry leader in terahertz development, suggesting that title is better placed upon the mantle over at Teraview:

Your assumption of Picometrix being the commercial leader of Terahertz may not be correct. Depending on metric, but usually sales volumes or value is taken, Teaview in the UK has salesto both acedemia and industry substantially exceeding Picometrix in the last 12 months. As a priviate company however Teraview's sales are not reported to the market. Information on patent portfolio is also an indication of position in the market (seen in slide 4 http://www.etn-uk.com/Portals/0/Content/Terahertz/MtG%20at%20RS/S16%20-%20Barnes.pdf)

Thank you, Terahertz01, for your comments, I will give some follow-up, to your thesis in the next few days. (Heck, it's 1:30 a.m. as I write this). This is exactly, the type of discussion, I would like to generate, and I look forward to readers own input and comments. Please remember, all comments that aren't spam will be posted, so tell us what you think about this topic or any other related to THz

Adam Billy also writes the following comment:
Really good blog...Terahertz (THz) and millimetre-wave (MMW) spectroscopy are more and more utilized for security applications like staff scanners, assisting to identify criminal or maybe unsafe substances. Essential properties of these systems like area strength, frequency and performance parameters like the uncertainty of spectroscopic

Thank you. I would love to hear from more readers like you. As always, please share any news you may have related to THz, with me.

Terahertz Technology said...

Terahertz01, the pdf file you make reference to, ignores the fact picometrix acquired the seminal Lucent technology patents, and also ignores the many patents which do not mention terahertz in the title, but have both direct and indirect synergy and application to terahertz generation.
