Abstract-Giant cross-polarization conversion of terahertz radiation by plasmons in an active graphene metasurface
Results of theoretical investigation of the cross-polarization conversion of terahertz (THz) by the metasurface formed by a periodic array of located at the surface of a high-refractive-index substrate are presented. Giant conversion at the resonance frequencies takes place without applying external DC Pumping by its direct optical illumination or diffusion pumping allows for compensating the Drude losses in and leads to further enhancement of the conversion. It is shown that the total conversion can be achieved in the total internal reflection regime of THz from the metasurface at room temperature.
