An isotropy terahertz (THz) metamaterial for dual-band operation is designed and fabricated. The proposed metamaterial is composed of periodically arranged double metallic rings, and negative permittivity is obtained in 298–388 GHz and 652–780 GHz bands. Transmission and reflection characteristics of the proposed structure are simulated using Ansoft High Frequency Structure Simulator. The designed sample is fabricated on a gallium arsenide layer, and experiments are performed in THz time-domain spectroscopy. The experimental results agree well with the simulations
