Newsletter from TeraSense

Dear Randy  ,

Knowing about your keen interest in Terahertz-related technologies, we are happy to offer you our newsletter briefly touching upon some  important developments in Terahertz life as outlined below:
Terahertz focusing optics integrated with a broadband bow-tie Terahertz detectors operating up to 2.5 THz at room temperature
It looks like one more challenge in the evolution history of terahertz imaging systems and detectors has been successfully met!

This time a scientific ‘bottleneck’ that the researchers from the Lithuanian Center for Physical Sciences and Technology managed to circumvent was about getting rid of bulky terahertz optical systems e.g. passive optical components, parabolic or spherical mirrors, lenses, alignment fixtures etc., which can now be entirely dumped ... (read more

Graphene opens up the way for temperature-insensitive detection in terahertz range based on photothermoelectric effect

Scientists of the University of Maryland working in tight collaboration with their counterparts from Australia's Monash University, and the US Naval Research Lab succeeded in developing a prototype of a light detector made of grapheme that can ‘see through the matter’, operate at room temperatures and, the last but not least, has a picosecond response time!

The world of science knows no mercy, likes accuracy, and, of course, credit, where credit's due! This time TeraSense lab engineers should admit that other technologies based on Teraherz waves are successfully keeping pace with us, or are even ahead of us already! (read more)

Terahertz products become increasingly popular in Asia, with China setting the pace for the trend
It is extremely gratifying for TeraSense marketing managers to observe how Asian markets of Terahertz and sub-Terahertz products are gaining momentum. TeraSense® imaging systems operating in sub-terahertz (sub-THz) frequency range become increasingly popular among our Chinese clients.

Of course, Terasense authorized distributors and resellers in China should take credit for such growth in sales and popularity of our terahertz product.  TeraSense was delighted to receive MKR’s invitation to attend one of the greatest Terahertz events in the world - Europe/UK-China Millimeter Waves and Terahertz Technology Workshop that is being held in Chengdu, China on 2-4 September!
